What happens when an EPC expires?
An expired record can still be viewed, but it is no longer a valid certificate for marketing a property for sale or rent. An owner-occupier who is not selling or letting does not usually need to renew immediately.
How do I renew an EPC?
An EPC is not extended. An accredited domestic energy assessor visits the property, completes a new assessment and lodges a new certificate on the official register.
Do I need to renew immediately?
Renew before you market a property for sale or rent. If neither applies, an expired certificate alone does not normally create an immediate requirement to commission another.
